PASTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
REV. DR. KITA S. MOSS
The Rev. Dr. Kita S. Moss, born October 31, 1977, is a kingdom building preacher/teacher of God's Word and has been instrumentally used by God to construct character, charisma, and courage in the lives of many throughout his ecclesiastical tenure in the last 22 years of being in the ministry. Dr. Moss is married to Shewanda Moss, and they have two daughters (Jerrica & Jayla) and two beautiful granddaughers (Lauryn and Harlee).
Dr. Moss is the husband of Lady Shewanda Moss and they reside in Montgomery, Alabama. Moss is the only child born to Mr. and Mrs. James and Mary Moss. In the fall of 1996, Dr. Moss enrolled into his freshman year of college at Albany State University in Albany, Georgia. After his freshman year at Albany State University, Moss decided to transfer to Alabama State Uuiversity in Montgomery, Alabama. Moss founded a Youth Mentoring Organization in his hometown of Dothan, Alabama in 2001 called "The Prodigal Sons of Faith" and has worked extensively with youth throughout his tenure in ministry.
He is currently a son of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama being under the tutelage of Pastor Walter E. Ellis since December of 2002. Dr. Moss was reared and licensed to preach by now retired pastor emeritus- Rev. Lloyd D. Dillard and the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama on April 7, 2002. Pastor Moss was ordained by Pastor Walter E. Ellis and the Pilgrim Rest M.B.C. on September 29, 2019.
Upon entering the ministry, Moss was astutely driven enough to pursue his higher learning in his seminary studies by enrolling in the Beacon Theological University School of Ministry in Columbus, Georgia and in July of 2005 Dr. Moss was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Biblical Studies/Christian Counseling.
Pastor Moss has meticulously woven and spun a testament of destiny with his purpose being so potent that it exemplifies God's unquestionable power moving in a called vessels life. His life and life changing story is a prophecy to all that hearken to the voice of the Lord that the very limp, thorn, or cancer that has plagued you will be that very thing that catapults an individual to greatness in Christ.
Dr. Moss went back to his alma mater and served as a Spiritual Advisor for the 2018-2019 Northview High School Athletic Department in Dothan, Alabama where he changed lives with this motivational approach and his personal slogan, "One Day at a Time, One Decision at a Time". Also, another one of Moss's favorite slogans was, "Teamwork Will Make the Dream Work". Another one of Moss's slogans was "If It Doesn't Fit Don't Force It".
Dr.Moss is an author that has published three books within an 8 year span. One entitled, "From Pain to Power". His second book was entitled "My History Tried to Strangle My Destiny", and his latest book was co-authored by his wife; Lady Shewanda Moss entitled "Relationship Therapy". Dr. Moss has recently signed a contract publishing deal with Dorrance Publishing out of Pittsburg, PA just recently and looks to re-launch his freshmen book by the end of the 2020 or the first part of 2021.
Pastor Moss is a firm believer that as long as a person can (maintain) their PULSE, they can (regain) their PURPOSE. His overall philosophy about life is that everybody has a HISTORY, but their DESTINY is always more nutritious than their HISTORY. The realness of the matter lies merely in the fact that even when you make a jack-up decision, the Lord can turn around and give a joyous deliverance.
Dr. Moss is respected as a preacher's preacher and he is respected by his preaching peers as one who is EXEGETICALLY INSIGHTFUL and HOMILETICALLY INTELLIGENT not only this, but he is a (Preacher), a (Teacher) but most of all a (Reacher) of all mankind.
Dr. Moss is currently in the process of launching and aspiring to become the CEO of a program called S.T.O.P. which is the acronym for "Stop" "Think" "Observe" "Plan". This organization will be geared towards educating, empowering and igniting our millennial generation to becoming positive members of society instead of a problematic member of society. This organization will be geared towards serving as a liason for juvenile services and the juvenile judicial system as well as offering spiritual guidance and life coaching tools to group homes and youth detention facilities. Dr. Moss has proven to be one that hass risen above the odds of opposition in his life and he strives to stay in DRIVE when others choose to remain PARKED.
He is unapologetically favored and uncompromisingly faithful in his mission to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ.
